What do I mean by whole foods?

You may be wondering what I mean by whole foods. It certainly is not a new concept, after all we have been eating whole foods throughout the centuries. It's just that today we cook, process, genetically engineer, modify and change our food in many different ways. For example when we cook our foods we leach out the nutients from the food into the water. That's why it is much better to steam our vegetables, so we do not loose these important nutrients. Steaming them until they are a bright color and still have a little crunch to them leaves some of the nutrients there for our bodies to use.

Raw foods are best for us. I'm not talking about meat but the veges, fruits and nuts. We do not eat nearly the amount of raw fruit and vegetable that our bodies need. Actually eating raw fruits and vegetables is very time consuming. Have you ever noticed that it takes a long time to eat a salad?

Yesterday when we were having dinner my husband ordered some fish and potatoes, (he had already eaten his small side salad) I had ordered a nice cobb salad. I was happily putting on the dressing and picking out the onions when I looked up to see him taking his last two bites of fish.

Well that's a strange story but true, how many times have you ladies ordered a salad to be the only one left eating while everyone at the table is looking at you? This could be one of the reasons people don't eat enough raw food, we are all very busy.

Today while looking at the internet, I found a great site on whole foods and what they do for the body. Go to http://curezone.com/blogs/m.asp?f=573&i=55and see what things like broccoli, apples and beets actually do for you.

There is also a lot of information about juicing there. Juicing is the best way to get your fruit and vegetables if you have the time. Just be sure you use organic produce that has not been irradiated.

Personally, the best way I have found to get all of my vegetables and fruits in every day is The Feast(tm), a delicious and easy powder I put right into water and drink. To find out more go to www.urilife.net/lbeattie
